The all-done-for-you publicity campaign

The all-done-for-you publicity plan is the most common way that authors and publishers ask me to help publicise a new book release.

Here’s what’s involved:

  • The author or publisher contacts me at least two months prior to the book’s planned release.
  • If you’re self-publishing, I will ask to see the proposed cover and formatted interior file before agreeing to work with you on your book publicity.
    Two reasons behind this request:
    1) to be sure that I’m 100% happy putting your book forward to media, in terms of the standard of writing, editing and design; and
    2) as an indie published author and bookseller myself, to potentially offer some suggestions to you for improvements during the final proofing and tweaking stage before publication.
  • Once agreed that we’ll work together, I’ll send you an outline of the proposed publicity tasks, my fee for doing these tasks, and an author questionnaire to be answered. This helps me write the media release and find the best angles that interest specific media.
  • You send me the completed author interview with the final high res book cover, the book’s Advance Information Sheet (I can help you make this, if needed), and a high res author photo.
  • I’ll draft the media release and send to you to review.
  • I contact media about potential book reviews, author interviews, extracts and giveaways, all lined up to complement your book launch timing.
  • I will advise you of all media opportunities generated by the above activity, and support you as you liaise with media to complete these activities.
  • You will send me copies of your book, once printed, to send out to reviewers (P&P costs extra).
  • I can support any local launch events you’re doing in person with information for local media.
  • I will collate available links to media activity into a final media report 4 to 6 weeks after your book release date.
